Another High Performing School for Albuquerque

Wave Engineering congratulates Albuquerque Public Schools, Hartman Majewski Design Group, Verdacity, and the entire design team for achieving the LEED Silver certification for Desert Willow Family School Phase 2. The project includes a seven-classroom addition to the successful Desert Willow Family School. The APS alternative Family School program combines a half-day of classroom instruction with a half-day of home-based instruction that helps parents take an active role in their children’s education. Parents commit to 10 to 15 hours of documented home instruction per week and attend one to two hours per month of instruction themselves. This beautiful new facility will allow the program to grow with continued success and excellence. The LEED Silver certification demonstrates that the classrooms and learning spaces meet acoustic criteria that enhance learning for students.
